Harmonic Motion will have its Spanish premiere at Galería Max Estrella as part of Alba Triana’s first solo exhibition at the gallery. This celebrated work, awarded at Prix Ars Electronica 2023, will be presented for the first time in Spain within the exhibition Life of the Lifeless — Alba Triana.

Dialogue with the Primordial Sea was a “Curator Pick,” selected by Locust Poject’s Executive Director Lorie Mertes from artist applications to the 2024 Knight Digital Commissions open calls.

Alba received the Prix Ars Electronica 2023 Award of Distinction in the category Digital Musics & Sound Art for her piece “Harmonic Motion.

Alba’s first solo exhibition at Max Estrella will bring together the core themes that define her practice, including vibration, energy, and the interconnected forces that shape the natural world.

The result is a constellation of vibrational objects, kinetic installations, and resonant spaces that foreground the vibratory essence of the cosmos. Life of the Lifeless unfolds as a multisensory environment to be walked through, listened to, and contemplated across space and time.

Alba's Music on a Bound String No. 2 will be part of Smart Cities, an exhibition curated by Naivy Pérez and Frency Fernández.

This edition of the triennial explores the dynamic interplay between contemporary art and architecture—a relationship rooted in the origins of both disciplines yet redefined by the social vision of the 20th-century Avant-Garde movements.

Subtropics Festival

Subtropics Festiva champions experimental music and the sound arts since 1989. The Marathon will feature works by numerous Subtropics artists based in South Florida. The festival will conclude with two evenings of Subtropics 2025 Marathon programs at the newly renovated Deering Estate Black Box Theater, where Alba's Harmonic Motion video documentation will be featured.

This year’s theme, ‘Archive of Feelings. A Journey,’ explores the complex relationship between emotional life and technological environments. Alba presented Dialogue with the Primordial Sea.

Alba presented Music on a Bound String No.2 at Energy Fields: Vibrations of the Pacific. The exhibition presents a diverse and dynamic collection of works from artists working out of Japan, Australia, Canada, Chile, New Zealand, and the USA. These works trace a path of investigation that intersects the fluctuation of time and space through gravitational waves, the geologic dynamism of tectonic and seismic activities and examines how sound, light, and electro-magnetic spectra affect the body and perception.
