suspended spheres in variable electromagnetic fields and magnetic films
dimensions variable

Orbits is an installation of pendulums suspended above magnetic films. Ten spheres draw ever-changing trajectories in space, activated by electromagnetic fields. The spheres develop a series of movements, which self-organize akin to natural orbits, like solar systems or atoms. Each pendulum performs a more or less articulated action according to its position within the whole installation. As each sphere moves, it leaves a trace on a magnetic film, generating a drawing that constantly renews.
